I just realized it has been a week since I last updated. I really don’t have a lot to add. We are now just playing the waiting game. I have started using daily OPK kits, but no positive yet. I believe I am only on day 13, and I am not exactly sure when I normally ovulate. I have done the trigger shot every month to force ovulation, so I don’t know what my body normally does on its own. So, I will continue testing and see what happens. How cool would it be if we managed to get pregnant on our own!?
Hubby and I really enjoyed our weekend away in the mountains. It was a little cold, but overall the weather was cooperative. We spent a lot of time indoors anyway. Our fun weekend involved Hubby teaching me VBA for Excel, updating our Aperture library, naming everyone in our pics with the new “faces” capability (pretty cool), accidentally deleting a bunch of our pictures, having to spend $80 on a program to recover deleted files, now having to spend the next few days or next weekend going through recovered files to only keep the stuff that is not total crap…..While this may not sound like fun, it is just our cup of tea. I know, we are weird. We have discovered how nice it is to go away for a weekend even when all your are planning to do is clean up type chores to all our electronic detritus.
We got back on Sunday, Mother’s Day, and we cooked a big meal for my mom and grandma. It’s funny. I totally wanted to do it, but once it came time to do all the work, as soon as they get there, I turn into a monster. I really need to get a handle on that. I also really want to make a shout out to Deb over at Smitten Kitchen. I have made this yogurt cake twice now, once with the lime and blackberry sauce and once as a lemon cake with lemon curd filling and frosted with lemon cream cheese frosting. I made the lemon version yesterday for Mother’s Day and it was a big hit. Living at altitude can be rough when baking. These cakes turned out perfectly with only small adjustments to the sugar and chemical leaveners. So, thanks Deb!
